Well, they have enough to finish this game. Frank Wright said here's Taylor. Taylor's gonna finish it!

0:14.0

It's you better. You bet on the Beck QL audio network.

Listen, running backs have been seen as replaceable for a while. Second, third round picks. You can turn into stars the first couple of years in their career.

0:37.0

But Jonathan Taylor is not one of those. Well, in the sense that he could be an MVP possibly this season. He was in the conversation last year. Chris McNick asked you. He's one of the few.

0:47.0

Every time I hear Jonathan Taylor highlight, I just think of last year that that stretch that he had where everybody was starting to look around, go wait a minute.

0:55.0

Should we actually consider a running back again at MVP? It's been a long, long time. You'd be curious to see if they didn't, the Colts didn't melt down at the end of the regular season.

1:04.0

If there might have been maybe a few more votes for somebody like a Jonathan Taylor, but for the most part we know whether it's fantasy or whether it's just the NFL as a whole and the way offense is a run.

1:15.0

Wide receivers are getting all of the money and getting all of the attention and putting up huge numbers. And then here comes Jonathan Taylor with 1800 yards rushing last year and you go, oh wait, there's at least one that's gonna show that you should value the position at least at least a little bit still.

1:32.0

Oh, and outside of Taylor and who else would we put on that tier with him? I don't personally put anyone else on that tier with him. I don't think anybody would be.

1:44.0

So Derek Henry was, but I know is Derek Henry going to be as healthy now. Right.

1:50.0

Maybe put him in that category.

1:52.0

Can Christian McCaffrey stay healthy, especially if, you know, because of his impact in the receiving game, but I don't put anybody up there on that first year with Jonathan Taylor.

2:04.0

And I think increasingly what we're seeing is that trend that you talked about outside of Jonathan Taylor, Nick, which is just looking at the money being handed out to wide receivers this year.

2:14.0

And at first, it looked like this off season was more just a byproduct of, oh my God, I can't believe the Jaguars gave Christian Kirk $18 million a year.

2:24.0

And from there was a rising tide lifting all boats and everybody was getting at least $20 million average annual value.

2:31.0

And that top tier of wide receivers seemingly got bigger and bigger, at least based on salary.

2:39.0

And are there any running backs out there anymore? I mean, it's widely considered folly unless the guy is Derek Henry or maybe a Christian McCaffrey to give a running back a second contract.

2:49.0

Why would you do that? I mean, the Steelers got hammered for drafting a running back in the first round a couple years ago, even though Najee Harris ended up leading the league in touches last year.

2:58.0

So the running back devaluation continues in the NFL. And if this off season has shown us anything, it's that the increased valuation of wide receivers is only going to continue at a breakneck pace.

3:13.0

If it were, if it were a graph, it was sort of a slow progression upward, upward, upward. And then it just went straight up this off season.

3:21.0

Again, in small part because the Christian Kirk contract signed, but then because of all of the other extension sign, I think it's 11 wide receivers now 11.

3:31.0

Yeah, 11 wide receivers this off season have signed contract extensions that average at least $20 million a year, 11 wide receivers.
