Summary

On today's episode of Fantasy Five-a-Side, Jim is joined by stand-up comedian and host of BBC Sounds podcast 'Jacob Hawley: On Drugs': it's Jacob Hawley!

A fellow Arsenal fan, Jacob joins us to talk through a five-a-side team made up of some fairly objectionable people, a few of Arsenal's more calamitous recent signings and a man who, for 6 games in 2008, was the Premier League's hottest striker. There's even a famous pop star who is solely in the squad so Jacob can try and score an invite to a future edition of Soccer Aid.

Welcome to Fantasy V aside with me, Jim Campbell. Today, my guest is Jacob Hawley, a rising

0:11.0

star on the UK stand-up circuit host of the award-winning BBC Sound Show Jacob Hawley

0:15.5

on drugs and one time co-host of a certain Mike Porkey Parry. Now, welcome, Jacob.

0:20.4

Thanks, mate. How are you? I'm good, how are you? I'm good. I'm excited to learn about Mike

0:23.7

Porkey Parry, actually. What was it like to work with such a national figure? Yeah, figures

0:30.2

that were national figure, isn't he? I felt you veered towards treasure and then veered away from

0:35.2

treasure. Yeah, it's like my vocabulary stepped in. It's like, no, that's not quite what you mean.

0:38.9

That's not what he is. I mean, he's a living, breathing meme. You don't, you don't, I mean.

0:47.6

The funny thing is, no one really understands what he... Some of my friends of mine who aren't from

0:52.9

the UK, I try and explain what he is. It's very difficult. He's a man who went viral for eating raw

0:59.0

cinnamon. Yes. Previous to that, he's had quite a strange checkered raw casting career.

1:04.2

A big fallout with his former co-presenter. Former co-presenter, yeah. And also, he's been present

1:10.4

at some really strange times in history. So he was the one who reported the death of Princess Diana.

1:17.1

Really? He was the first person to put an arm around Eric Cantan after he dropped kick that

1:21.6

crystal palace fa. So he's like forest gump. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly, exactly.

1:26.4

So just in case there is anybody that isn't aware of Mike Porcupari, a joke I was

1:30.2

explaining, he's a sort of veteran talk-spot presenter, or certainly was, and he went viral for,

1:35.0

as you say, spooning a load of cinnamon into his mouth, basically coughing it all up and saying,

1:39.4

I've passed the cinnamon challenge, even though demonstrably hadn't, that's very much the point

1:43.2

in the video. So yeah, very, very strange British cult figure, and I'm delighted to get a little

1:47.1

peek into the curtain of how he works. This is one of the fullest tablespoon falls of cinema I've

1:52.2

seen in the various challenges that I've seen recorded. Mine's going to be the best of all, and I
