I want to mention a couple of pet peeves I have regarding the social media platform known as Twitter,

because it's fun and because we can.

First, you have to realize that Twitter is designed to maximize conflict and make people extremely angry. There's no middle ground on Twitter.

There are only those who are passionately against X and those who are passionately in favor of X.

And when you have a limit of 280 characters

or whatever it is now, you cannot lay out an argument

with premises and finesses and distinctions.

You can only explode with emotion. You can love something intensely or hate something

intensely. Twitter removes the possibility of actual conversation. What that leaves is only the most

primal impulses in the human person. Twitter was designed to bypass the upper brain, the cerebral cortex, and go straight for the hippocampus, way back

at the bottom, the lizard brain. The primal part of your brain that's hopped up on the drugs

of sex and survival and food and the need to

appear like John Wayne while hiding behind a fake handle.

Sidebar. Yes, I believe that anonymous accounts on any social media platform is a bad idea.

And I know that you're a high-level government spy and you can't lose your job.

But it's one reason why I block FNCs.

Fake-name cowards. Another thing, it's a little favor. If you're going to contact

me privately about Father so-and-so or Bishop so-and-so or politician so-and-so, put on your

big boy pants and tag the person you're
