Summary

Next Best Picture has decided to start doing "historical" podcast film reviews for movies that pre-date the creation of the site for you, our dear fans. These are reviews which are voted on by you (Our current poll is ongoing for the next review which will take place in April) and we're hoping to release them every month and expand in the future. Part of that expansion is contingent on your support which is why these podcasts in particular are going to be exclusive to our Patreon members. We have released a preview for you all to listen to but to receive the full review, you will have to head over to our Patreon page and subscribe. Myself, DeAnn Chiazzese and Josh Williams reviewed Wes Anderson's 2009 film "Fantastic Mr. Fox" in anticipation of his upcoming stop-motion film "Isle Of Dogs." You are listening to The Next Best Picture podcast, and this is our review of 2009's Fantastic Mr. Fox. Who am I, Kylie? Why a fox? Why not a horse or a beetle or a bald eagle? I'm saying this more as like existentialism, you know? I don't know what you're talking about, but it sounds illegal. Wes Anderson creates a triumph and animated storytelling.

Don't buy this tree, Foxy. This is bogus, Bunce, and bean, three of the meanest, nastiest, ugliest farmers in this valley. You're moving into the most dangerous neighborhood for someone of your type of species. Your comments are valuable, but I'm going to ignore your advice. The cuss you are. Are you cussing with me? No, you cussing with me? Don't cussing point me. You're going to cuss with someone. No, you're not going to... Just by the tree. Okay. Rolling Stone Raves. Fantastic Mr. Fox is a movie that deserves to be called groundbreaking. It looks like nothing you've seen before. We look good? Yeah, we do.

What's this thing you do, the whistle with the clicking sound?

1:26.6

That's my trademark.

Academy Award winner, Merrill Streep. You really are a quote-unquote fantastic Fox. I try. Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, Willem Defoe, Owen Wilson. Wack bass. It's real simple. There's three grabbers, three taggers, five twig runners, and a player at whackbat. Center tiger likes a pine cone, and chucks it over the basket, and the whack batter tries to hit the cedar stick off the cross rock.

1:46.8

Fantastic Mr. Fox. Quig runners dash back and forth until the pine cone burns out, then you count up however many scoredowns it adds up to and divide that by nine. All right, everybody, you were just listening to the trailer for 2009's Fantastic Mr. Fox. And the story is as follows. After 12 years of
