And I'm Deb Bowen.

And if you're a new listener, normally Deb and I talk about all things connected to intuition

and psychic development, but this year we're just doing a little bit of a focus on magic.

So this week we're going to be talking about famous grimoires and books of shadows throughout

history. Plus we'll discuss tips for creating your own book of shadows. So before we dive into

this week's teaching, I want to share some theories behind magic and the use of these books that I

discovered in my research. Some people believe that when we use magic and practice the invocations

and evocations in these grimoires, that we're not actually summoning spirits, demons, demons,

or angels. Rather what we're accessing are the deeper reaches of our higher and lower consciousness.

In fact, some say that when you draw a pentagram, all you're doing is pulling your higher

consciousness into yourself and connecting it to all aspects of your aura. When you draw a

reverse pentagram, as is called for in many of these grimoires, you're calling up aspects of your

lower consciousness. And I just had not come across that. Maybe some listeners are going,

oh yes, man, that's like magic one or one. But I had not come across that before. Had you, Deb?

Well, I've never drawn a reverse pentagram so I don't know about that. You know, if you think about

the notion of the acoptic records and the information that's available really to all of us

all the time, if we tap into it, then we are that information. Yeah, it's a fascinating idea

to play with. But okay, so here's the other side of this. So many of these books are based on

King Solomon's magic, right? So there's all these ancient stories that say he was able to tame

the demons and get them to help him build his temple. Some practitioners, however, say they were

no demons at all, that this is just an allegory showing that King Solomon was so wise and accomplished
