Chapter 8 for our Bible study this evening?

Have you guys heard of Sobabor?

That's funny how there's things in history that I feel like people need to be reminded of, you know,

and some of them are hard things like this one. But Sobabor was one of the concentration camps

of the Nazis during World War II. It didn't get as much press because it wasn't as huge as like

Auschwitz or, you know, Dachau or some of these other bigger concentration camps. But this one was a smaller one,

and it was in the scenic, beautiful area of the woods near the Bug River, which separates Poland

from Russia. The natural beauty of the setting was standing in stark contrast to the stench and

horror of the camp.

It was a death camp where people would be hauled

and they would put them in the showers and gasped the people.

And more than a quarter of a million people

were killed there at that place.

But the thing about this,

there was a story that caught my attention,

and it sort of

reminded me in sort of springboards into our study here in Amos chapter A. But on October 14th,

1943, you know, there was a group of the Jewish slaves. The people they didn't kill had like

skills, like seamstresses and shoe makers.

They let those people live.

And so there were like 700 people that were imprisoned here as slave work, slave labor.
