I think that my mom was relying very much on the fact that I was a child, that I wasn't going to remember much,

that she could basically just shepherd me or shove me in front of whomever she was interacting with,

and say, well, that's Paul Skyhorse and that's who your father is, and that I would just accept it at face value.

That's Brando Skyhorse, no longer a child,

no longer being led into believing the stories spun by his mother.

So my memory is like, oh, at last, here's my father,

here's someone I'm connected with.

It was that sense of relief.

It was that sense of like, oh, finally, this question has been answered for me,

when the harsh reality of it is that my search was just beginning.
