Take your Bibles and find Psalm 128.

We're going to talk today about some home-made happiness.

A home ought to be the dearest place on earth, the nearest place to that heaven that we're talking about.

In this particular Psalm, God gives us a description of the ideal family.

I did not say the normal family or the average family. It ought to be normal according to God's

standard, but God does give us the ideal family. Look at it, if you will, Psalm 128.

Blessed is everyone that feareth the Lord,

that walketh in his ways, for thou shalt eat the labor of thine hands. Now here's the phrase,

watch it. Happy shall thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house,

thy children like olive plants round about thy table.

Behold, thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord.

The Lord shall bless thee out of Zion, and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem. All the days of thy life, yea, thou shalt see thy children's children and peace upon Israel.

I say that is the ideal family. May I give you a definition of the family?

So many times we don't even know what we're talking about.

When we talk about family, the word family has been misused and abused,

caricatured and sometimes refused.

But what is a family?

A family is an institution ordained of God. It did not come out of the swamps of evolution
