This is hell and that virus of capitalism infects every part of our lives whether we want to admit it or not.

And if you're like me, you don't want to admit it because of a feeling of being trapped in a world that is cruel,

abusive, exploitative, and one that incentivizes hate over love and competition over

cooperation.

And yet I depend upon it because it's the only way to have

access to the resources needed to survive. That virus from which the market

benefits while the people and planets suffer even infects what we hold nearest

and dearest to our hearts.

Yes, it corrupts even our family, which as our guest today argues, is a strict and limited social structure and one that capitalism depends upon.

Under capitalism, in particular, neoliberalism, our personal relations are perverted by market relations and a

commodification of each family member.

It makes sense when our capital culture idealizes the family through a privileged prism that obscures the outcome of inequality and many other human and social relationships that exist outside of white supremacy.

Keeping in mind that abolition does not outside of white supremacy.
