Summary

As Russia unleashed an assault on Ukrainian cities this Thursday, many families were left with no choice but to pack everything and abandon their homes. Fleeing the chaos of war in Ukraine is no easy feat. Katya Demidova, a Los Angeles mother who is from Ukraine, spoke to Jessica Rosenthal about her family who was taking shelter in Kyiv at the time. She talks about what the first hours of Russia's invasion were like for her family. Katya also discusses her reaction to President Putin's controversial speech from Monday in which he denied Ukraine's independence and legitimacy. She explains the differences between Ukrainian and Russian culture and explains why Ukrainians felt so offended by Putin's remarks given their history. On this exclusive interview on the FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear our entire conversation with Katya Demidova and learn more about her family's struggle to escape the urgent crisis in Ukraine.
