Kentwood, Louisiana, is about 2000 miles away from Hollywood, California, land of fruits and nuts

and flakes. But for many years, the pop star, Britney Spears, very successfully navigated those

miles and the many, many secrets and inside deals and the selling of one soul that typically

go hand in hand with making that trip a successful and a prosperous one. But as of late, there seems

to be a snag in the deal. It seems Britney either wasn't shown or didn't read defined print on

that contract with the devil. And now, although she's free at last from her 13 year conservatorship,

she's paying the price. And we've all got a front row seat. I'm AJ Benz. And this is fame is a bitch,

a show where I like to take you on the flip side of the walk of fame. Before I begin, I want to welcome

those of you listening in through drop biscuit. Me and my show and my brand. It's a long time.

Hollywood inside it will become more and more clear as you listen along. And I'm very excited that

you do. Fame is a bitch has had a very successful run, both as a free show three times a week.

And one offered behind a paywall via Patreon for roughly five years now. And I was able to pull

the curtain away from such major topics as the Me Too movement, the burgeoning LGBTQ movement,

and the ever changing rules and strong suggestions that have changed Hollywood forever.

Once a place where players like Marlon Brando and Jack Nicholson could let their hair down,

and creepy people like Army Hammer or Harvey Weinstein could hide their sexual peccadillos from

the world. Hollywood has turned into a very different place. It certainly ain't the town I moved to

in the mid 90s from New York City when you have to as playboy mansion parties were in full swing.

And comedians could tell a joke without being canceled or tackled on stage by lunatics.

But I want to welcome those of you who are new to the show and my brand of podcasting.
