So tonight I want to talk about prophecy and I want you to turn to 1 Corinthians chapter

14. I specifically, there's I want to talk about false prophets and true prophets and the difference.

In fact, turn to 1 Corinthians 12, first we're going to do this. I think there's a lot of confusion

and I don't think we're going to finish this in one night but we'll get started at least

enough to like stir you up to think through some of maybe some of your concepts concepts that you've

had. Verse 1 now concerning spiritual gifts brother I don't want you to be unaware. You know

that when you were pagans you were led astray by mute idols however you were led. Therefore I make

known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says Jesus is accursed and no one can say

Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. There are a variety gifts but the same Spirit everybody

say same Spirit. There are a variety of ministries but the same Lord everybody say same Lord. There are

a variety of effects but the same God or by say the same God who works all things or by say all things

in all persons but to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good

everybody say common good that's one of our core values for prophetic mystery it's for the common

good that's just the thought but some people haven't got that far. Verse 8 for to one is given the

word of wisdom through the Spirit to another word of knowledge according to the same Spirit everybody

say same Spirit to another faith by the same Spirit everybody say same Spirit to another gifts of

healing by this by one Spirit or by say one Spirit to another affecting the miracles to another

prophecy to another the distinguishing of spirits and to another various kinds of tongues to another

the interpretation of tongues but one and the same Spirit say one and the same Spirit works all these

things distributing to each one individually as he wills and I want to just begin tonight by talking

about the way that this church in Corinth this is a this is a Greek church this this came this

church came out of a Greek culture and when Paul is teaching them now we know in 1 Corinthians 14
