Tupac was born June 16th, 1971 in East Harlem, New York City.

He has like given name right at birth was Lassane Parish Crooks, but he was renamed

when he was a year old.

So he's been Tupac Shakur for almost all of his life.

He was born to Affinny Shakur and named after her husband at the time, but their

marriage fail apart after he found out that Tupac wasn't actually his child. Both of his

They were Black Panthers in like the late 60s, early 70s. In fact, about a month before

Tupac was born, his mother was tried in New York City as part of the Panthers 21 criminal

trial and she was acquitted of all 150 charges.

In the 80s, a Finney struggled with drug addiction, which caused them to move several times,

and sometimes they would even, like, end up moving into homeless shelters, you know, just
