Then, finally, at 11.25 a.m. on the East Coast, Pennsylvania is called for the Democrat.

NBC News now projects that Joe Biden has won the Keystone State Pennsylvania and its 20 electoral votes.

And that means we can now project that former Vice President Joe Biden has been elected president of the United States.

Near the Biden campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, Kamala Harris is out for a jog with her husband.

As secret service agents look on, she calls up her running mate.

We did it. We did it, Joe. You're going to be the next president of the United States.

And now, for hours later, the new Vice President-elect, stood at a podium at an outdoor rally at the Chase Center in Wilmington, Delaware.

And so I am thinking about her and about the generations of women, black women,

Asian, white, Latina, Native American women,

who throughout our nation's history have paved the way for this moment tonight.
