You know, I've been working on teaching a series on the fruit of the spirit.

And today we're going to teach on the fruit of faithfulness.

God is faithful. He puts his fruit in us,

and he wants us to be faithful. What is the definition of faithfulness? Well, it's pretty long in the Webster's 1828 dictionary, which is really a very accurate dictionary. It's firm in adherence to the

truth and to the duties of a relationship with God, firmly adhering to duty, to be loyal, constant

in the performance of duty or service, exact in attending to what an authority has given you to do.

Individuals should be faithful to their word.

Governments should be faithful to their constitutions, and we should be faithful to our

marriage partner, constant, not fickle, as a faithful friend or lover, true and worthy of belief.

Now I'm going to give you a real simple definition. Stick with it and don't quit.

And do what you're supposed to do right every time, not just sometimes. Faithfulness is something that, sadly,

is kind of evaporating in our society today. But I believe that if you're a Christian, you need to set the

example for the people around you.

Matthew 1233 says, make the tree good and its fruit will be good.

Or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad.

For a tree is recognized by its fruit.

It's not any of our Christian paraphernalia, like the crosses we wear around our neck,
