Summary

Last week, I plunged for the second time into the world of the Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything). I can’t tell you how many participants in the AMA posed some version of this question: How could an all-loving God possibly countenance so much violence, suffering, and pain? Most questioners turned up the heat by putting special emphasis on the suffering of children and of the innocent. Every single major theologian has wrestled with the issue, as well as many of our most important artists. And our first reading clearly indicates that people in biblical times wrestled with the very same issue.

0:48.4	world of the Reddit AMA. That means ask me anything. Now if you don't know what
0:54.3	Reddit is, it's a web forum, one of the most popular in the world and this AMA
1:00.4	thing asks me anything is a forum in which a person makes himself available to
1:09.0	respond to any question anybody wants to ask. I've said before it's like the
1:13.8	quad-liberal questions in the middle ages so when a professor would come
1:17.8	into the room and quad-leabed and Latin just means whatever you want. The
1:22.8	professor would entertain any question from the floor. Well things trust me.
1:26.6	They're a little more rough and ready on the internet but it's the same kind of
1:31.1	idea. Now I'm saying this not because I'm particularly famous because I'm quite
1:36.4	sure 98% of people on Reddit AMA don't know me but now for the second time we
1:42.7	did it last year for the second time I had one of the most popular AMAs of the
1:47.6	year. Last year I was just behind Bill Gates and Jordan Peterson. This year as
1:52.4	I record these words I'm behind again Bill Gates was number one. He's really
1:56.7	big on Reddit AMA but I'm just about to catch Bernie Sanders and again I'm
