This episode features the case against Darren Lopez, an army veteran who stood trial for his alleged role in an elaborate murder for hire plot in which he claimed he was manipulated into killing his high school sweetheart's husband after she faked

abuse to convince him that she was in mortal danger.

He is shot seven times and left dead on that street.

Two people out for a wall, one gets shot, maybe a robbery.

Anytime you have an innocent person gunned down,

it's terrifying, really, for the whole community.

I did not want Jamie to suffer. community.

I did not want Jamie to suffer, even though in my eyes he was a monster,

so I fired the rounds into his head.

This was a murder in a love triangle.

The PTSD in much part led to him being duped.

In the end, there was but one victim here.

One victim, and that victim is Jamie Faye.

It was a peaceful. It was a peaceful morning on October 9th, 2020 when Jamie and Jennifer Faith left the house behind me to go on their morning walk.

They would get up every morning, take their walks, walk their dog, and so they seem to be a

normal couple living in Dallas in a very quiet community called Oak Cliff.

The couple have been married for 15 years and by all accounts they were happy.
