Would you turn this evening to two openings, Mark 11 and 2 Timothy at 1?

Mark 11, 2 Timothy 1.

In Mark 11 and 22, Jesus is speaking to the fig tree, and it had obeyed him and withered up just in a matter of hours.

And when the disciples saw it, they marveled.

And he took it as an opportunity to teach them and us about faith.

Now, how many understand that if this just something that he could do as the Son of God,

there would have been to no need to teach them or us about it?

If it's, you know, probably a lot more people believe this than what we believe,

they believe that Jesus did that just because he's the son of God.

And he could do that.

And that you and I would be presumptuous to think we could or to try to do anything like this.

But if that were true, he wouldn't have taught us about it, would he?

He wouldn't have taught us what happened and how to do it.

He would have said, no, boys, don't try this at home now.

I can do this because I'm the son of God.

But no, there's no need in you wondering about that.

When I decide to do things like that, I do.

And you don't need to be concerned about it.

But that's not what he said.
