As you guys see from the title, we're back with another episode of Faith and Film. And today we're talking about Tyler Perry, Divorce Sisters, Episode 7. And y'all, this episode is about faith and friends because this was a lesson I had to learn. So in this episode, it's a group of friends, and they're all talking about the different things that they're going through in their relationships and their marriages. And, you know, that's normal. It's normal to have girlfriends and have girl nights. But the biggest lesson that God had to teach me when it comes to faith in friends is that your friends don't know the steps that I have ordered for you. Your friends don't know what I'm doing. Just because when you really think about it, like let's really think about it, y'all. If the word tells us that God steps are ordered for us, we know that God knows what's happening,

he knows what's going to happen next, right? But the word also tells us, lean not on your own

understanding, meaning that you don't know and you don't understand what I'm going to do.

The word even tells us that his thoughts and his ways are far beyond our thoughts and our ways.

Somewhere on this fleshly earth, we have convinced ourselves that talking to our friends is going to get us clarity or answers.

And then the crazy thing is, like, especially in high school, I could think back and think to myself like,

why would you be taking relationship advice during your friends? It's not in relationships. And even if they are in relationships, you would have talked to your friend, man. So it's just like you wouldn't even date the type of person that they date. And so why would you be taking relationship advice for them? Why would you feel like what they have to say is what you need to apply to yours? But we all need community. we all need some need somebody. And that's why small disclaimer, this is why prayer is so important. If you are talking to your friends, make sure you and your friends are praying so that the Holy Spirit can speak to your friends and God can use your friend as a vessel to deliver his word to you. But if you're taking advice from people that you don't even pray with, you don't even know if they pray.

Baby, it's the blind leading the blind. You blind because you don't know what's going on. And they definitely don't know what's going on if they're not speaking and seeking after God. Like, they definitely don't know what's going on. And then the thing about it is you can be talking to your friends and they sound so confident in what they're saying but if it is not a word

it is a waste of time like i'm so sorry to break it down like i'm watching episode seven and they're talking

to their friends about you know what's going on and it's just like nobody's friends together and saying

let's seek god and see what god has to say about this everyone is just just coming together and sharing their opinions. Any word that is not from God is an opinion and it can most likely be

wrong. So when it comes to preparing for marriage, when it comes to if you're already married,

be intentional with talking to your father more than you talk to your friends. Not only that in

this episode, one of the friends basically went off on everybody and was like, yeah, and your love life is a mess because it is. And your love life is a mess because of that. Remember, you told us your husband wasn't even good in bed. That's what one of the friends said. And it's like the friend was only able to say that because she told her that. This is for my married bays.

Be very careful with the people that you talk to about your marriage. Your husband, you are one with

him. So if you're talking negative about him, you're talking negative about you. And I hate to say it,
