Turn with me, please, in the scriptures to Mark chapter 9.

We began some weeks ago talking about faith for miracles.

I want us to continue.

Lord, we agree together in asking you for utterance.

We don't want to hear just men's ideas. I don't want to. These folks

don't want to just hear from me. We want to hear from you. And so we're asking you for utterance

and ears to hear and eyes that see, hearts and minds to perceive and understand and receive. And we

believe we receive it and we thank you for it

lord make my tongue as the pen of a ready writer speak through me i ask help us to yield to you

beyond what we know and beyond ourselves and we purpose not to be hearers only or forgetful

hearers but to be doers of the word in Jesus' name. Amen.

Mark 9, man brought his son to Jesus.

He had just brought his son to the disciples

who had been getting people set free and healed.

But on this occasion, they did not.

They prayed everything they had prayed before,

and they rebuked and bound and cast out and laid hands,

and nothing.

Nothing happened.

And when Jesus came down from the mound of where he was transfigured and saw the glory and

and spoke with Moses and Elijah the people came running to him and the man in verse 17 says
