But we have the mind of Christ.

What an amazing verse. Just think about it. So the first part,

who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?

But clearly none of us can give instructions to God as if we have things to teach God.

He is all knowing. He is all wise. He does not need our instructions.

And so the picture is his mind, the mind of the Lord. What a phrase.

Just picture the wonder, infinite beauty and wisdom and knowledge that's found in the mind

of the Lord. And so there's a clear difference between us and our minds and the Lord in his mind.

And yet at the very end of this chapter, the very next phrase, Paul writes,

so the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, but we have the mind of Christ,

which means that the wisdom of God is available to us in Christ.

Like we have his Holy Spirit in us, which is what 1 Corinthians 2 has been talking about.

We have the Holy Spirit of God, the Spirit of Jesus,

living inside of us, which means we have his mind. He shares his mind with us.
