Cliff Sims had a front row seat in the White House to some of President Donald Trump's

biggest decisions and helped craft the administration's message to the American people.

As a special assistant to the President and a key staffer in its communication shop, he worked closely

with press secretary Sarah Huckaby Sanders before moving to a new role as deputy director

of National Intelligence for Strategy and Communications.

Along the way, Sims wrote a best-selling book about his 500 days in the White House

and is now out with a new book called The Darkness Has Not Overcome,

Lessons on Faith and Politics from inside the halls of power.

Sims writes from the perspective of a Baptist minister's son, whose own Christian faith

guided him during his time in the Trump administration.

He spoke to the daily Signal about the lessons he learned

and his advice for Americans

as they prepare to make a choice for our country's future.
