0:35.2	podcast, the point here is that I get way too anxious about the news
0:40.9	and I don't want to be anymore.
0:45.9	So what we do is we present a problem and anxiety creating story that's in the news
0:52.2	and then provide some historical perspective and biblical
0:55.2	peace to hopefully make all of that anxiety wash away. I want to get right to this story because
1:02.2	we're not really talking about this issue now. I don't know if it's getting drowned out by the
1:08.4	midterms. We should be talking about it as a midterm issue because it's that awful.
1:12.9	The National Assessment of Educational Progress, it's a nationwide test.
1:17.4	Eighth graders, 26% are proficient in math.
1:22.8	26% of eighth graders are proficient.
1:26.9	Now, this is being framed by the media that does talk about it as, well, this is the
1:32.2	effects of COVID.
1:35.4	And it is, these scores are down, but in 2019, only 34% of kids were proficient in math.
