You know, I'd normally start a new week of podcasts after a holiday weekend by saying,

I hope that you sure had a great time and had some fun times

with your family, your friends, your loved ones, and just all in all had a great, great weekend.

But I really need to start rethinking this and say, I hope you had a safe weekend.

We have some alarming crime statistics from a very violent Labor Day weekend in the United

States coming up in just a few minutes on KKHI.

So many things going on over this weekend as we head into the new week.

We're going to get sports heavy later in the week, obviously with all these big football games coming.

But we start with something that is just astounding to me, and I sure

hope that Americans are smart enough to remember things. And I remember at the depths of the

pandemic when we were locked down, when we were wearing masks, when we were told what to do,

when everybody was pressuring everyone to get a shot and do this and don't go outside,

don't, you know, lock down your home.

I remember exactly what it felt like to be told over and over and over what I'm supposed to do,

what makes me a good person, how I'm supposed to live, people in the government telling me

these things.
