I'm Matthew Glacias, here with Jared Lindt and with Jane Kostin.

And we wanted to talk today about Facebook, a company that is frequently in the news,

and that has gotten more in the news lately.

There was a big New York Times exposé, I guess, on the company's real reaction to Russian hacking and interference and other scandals over the summer.

It's reaction to the increased public scrutiny that comes with.

Yes.

I would say the most striking revelation in the article is at one point they work with Republican party operative Tim Miller to orchestrate a smear campaign that their critics are being funded by George Soros,

which is not like an unfamiliar political tactic in the known universe,

but for a company that has often tried to paint a more liberal image is striking.

Pudos to the five authors of the New York Times article for knowing to juxtapose these two things in the same paragraph that while Facebook was reaching out to this upper research firm to talk about the Soros links of its critics,

it was simultaneously reaching out to allies and civil rights groups to paint criticism of the company as anti-Semitic,

which is an interesting way to diversify your portfolio of attacks.

It shows real Hutzpah.
