Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Fox Across America game ball presentation ceremony.

This week is such a big presentation.

I actually sound nervous about it because the award recipient is not only a first timer, but he's an all-timer.

If there was a comedy Mount Rushmore, this guy's family would be selling you the fireworks in the parking lot for the 4th of July barbecue.

I am talking about the face of the blue collar comedy tour, the host of Are You Smarter than a 5th grader?

The man who coined the phrase, you might be a redneck.

Jeff Foxworthy gets the Fox Across America Game Bowl for what I do consider to be a stellar media appearance on this week's show. You too, brother. How are you? It's a big damn deal. Okay? So something that won me over instantly when I ran into you earlier today at Fox and I just want to make sure we get to this. So we have a mutual friend, the late great Vic Henley. Yes. Who was one of the greatest comics and just the best overall hangs you could ever hope to come across.

Great hang.

Okay.

I mean, if you were going to go sit down and have a beer after a show, because he always had

stories.

Always had stories.

And any time I heard those stories, I consumed enough beer that my iPhone didn't recognize

my face to unlock it the next morning.

That was sick. Anytime you had to go to the Apple store to unlock your phone, they're like, oh, you're hanging out with Henley again. You know big. And God love him. So he did something for me early on in my process, and this is going to correlate really well with our discussion about your new stand-up special, the jokes on me. When I passed

comic strip live here in New York, you audition for, you know, made comics, guys like Henley that are all the statesmen, that are the faces of the franchise. And at the time, I was a cab driver driving, you know, 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. doing stand-up at night. So on the night I got passed at the strip, knew nothing about

the tough love of comedy. I had what I thought was the euphoric high point of my existence.

And as I was signing out, Henley, appropriate of nothing, just says over my shoulder. He goes,

you're going to take the money for that set?

It broke me down to nothing. And I didn't understand it. Okay. And then I did and I was like, oh, that's amazing. Which is kind of like welcome to the club. Yes, of course. Yes. And the thing I love about your new special, it's streaming now on Fox Nation. It's called The Jokes on Me is it is about process. Yes, there's a killer hour of material, but you're also

going to stand behind the magician and see where you get the rabbit from and, you know, how you

guess a card. And I think that is so valuable because what we are ultimately is the product of process.
