The race is on, and the 2022 Formula One season is just around the corner with all new cars, some big driver news, and the potential for the biggest shakeup in years.

But how high should our expectations be? And will it be the usual

suspects at the front, or could there be a shift in the balance of power? I'm Ed Steyore

and joining me to answer those questions, and many more, are Gary Anderson and Mark Hughes.

Well, Gary, how are you? You must be excited about new regulations. That's exactly in your

wheelhouse as a former technical director, surely. Yeah, I am excited about them. I just, I sort of wish they weren't quite

so prescriptive. I've spent a few days having to look through them to try and understand

what you can do and what you can't do. And it's really, really very difficult. I mean,

if we thought last

year we saw lawyers getting involved in the politics of it all, you didn't see nothing yet,

I think. Because to be honest, it's, again, it's all wording. There is no real illustrations

as to what you can do. So it's interpretation of a massive, massive amount of

wording in a completely different direction. So I'm expecting a little bit of controversy,

especially early on, as to what's right and what's wrong, how they're interpreted. But yeah,

a new challenge for everybody, as I say i say very prescriptive but still the detail

there you can still find stuff so i am expecting some of the good guys to to really scratch their

head and bring something good to the table i presume there's your design there's what would it be

a jordan two-two somewhere in your head after those few days of

studying the regs, I presume? No, that's impossible. It really is impossible, actually. You know,

with all regulations, although I criticised them many, many times, you could actually sit down and

read them for a while and get a bit of a picture in your mind as to what you could do. This is

completely different. This you've definitely got to start drawing stuff out.
