Tautus. Hello, it's Claudia here and you're listening to the slow newscast from Tautus. This week, riots, reports, and the hundreds of criminals pardoned by Donald Trump.

My plan was to take a little vacation because, see, I had a pre-apportment to start my chemotherapy.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer, went through surgery, and it was coming up. So this would be a fun time.

Go to have some fun before I start chemo, because you know once you start chemo therapy, you can't go anywhere.

Pam Hempfill is in her late 60s when she has her breast cancer surgery.

She's a mother of three, grandmother of two, facing months of chemo and radiation.

And a family wants to cheer her up.

And my family called and said, would you like to go as a gift for Christmas?

So in early January, as her Christmas present, Pam flies thousands of miles right across the country

from her home in Boise, Idaho to Washington, D.C. And on January 6th, 2021, she turns up at the

Capitol, the home of U.S. democracy. She's there to attend a rally supporting the false claim promoted by Donald Trump

that the 2020 election has been stolen by Joe Biden and the Democrats. Before she goes,

she tells her Facebook followers it's a war. Pam and the rest of her family are all long-term Trump supporters.

But for a few years now, she's been spending more and more of her time

with a very specific group of political activists in Idaho.

My state is a red state.

It's huge with all the far-right militia that know me.

People like Aymn Bundy, leader of people's rights, a far-right anti-government organization

that spent 2020 pushing COVID denialism and white supremacy and fighting law enforcement officers.

Pam documents the group's meetings and protests almost obsessively online.
