tonight in the book of Ezra, which we started last week. So Ezra chapter 2.

You can turn there and if you're not there already.

And as you do, I just mention a couple things, especially for those of you who read ahead to stay ahead.

I'm so glad that you're here tonight if you read chapter 2 before coming.

I think that speaks to your love for God's Word and every word in God's Word

because of what's in store for us in this chapter tonight.

By any stretch of the imagination, it's a very boring chapter with just a list of a bunch of names.

So why don't we just close a prayer and we'll go eat.

No, I know that you know better than that, and that you know that this is not just

another nebulous place in the Word of God. This is yet another one of those places where even though we have

what would seemingly be this mundane list, there's actually quite a bit of personal application

in it to our lives. And I think you know that, and I think that you know that once we get into

our study it'll become abundantly clear as to why it is that every word is in God's

word for a reason for a purpose and this is 2 Timothy 316 it's easy to remember actually 16 and 17. It's easy to remember, actually 16 and 17, but it's easy to remember

because it's 316 like John 316. We're going to have another 316 tonight. So 2nd Timothy 316 and

17. Let me read it. All scripture, that's all scripture, is given by inspiration

of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

And here's why that the man of God, I add the woman of God may be complete thoroughly equipped for every good work.

So before we jump into verse one, why don't we pray and we'll ask God's blessing on our time together in His Word if you would join

with me.

Father in heaven, thank you so much for this time that we have tonight together to open up our

Bibles and take time together in your word.
