How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord is laid for your faith in his excellent word.

Hebrew 10, verse 12 tells us that Jesus offered one sacrifice for sins forever.

And then verse 14 also says we no longer need to make sacrifices because he has perfected

forever those who are being sanctified.

Well that leads some to ask, if that that's true why does the Bible tell us

sacrifices will be offered during the millennium? Welcome to through the Bible our

teacher Dr. J. Vernon McGee answers this question as we finish our study of Ezekiel with chapters 40 through

48.

Now as we study prophecy together, it's really easy to think that God is speaking only to people

in another time and place, not to us. And the truth is God wants to speak to us

through his word. But if we don't take notice, the Bible shows us God will use any method possible

to get our attention.

After a powerful explosion of Mount St Helens in 1980, one listener sent a letter to Dr. McGee wondering

if perhaps God was using this volcanic eruption to get us to sit up and take notice.

Dr. McGee loved her poem so much that he shared it with our listeners right away,

so let's listen to him share it with us again.

God's sermon is the name of the poem. It says, God spoke to us on May 18th.

Did you hear or see his hand? His sermon was a warning to the people of this land. This was not a quirk of

nature or some scientific thing. God's sermon shook a mountain and made the valleys ring.

God plainly says, I'm still around, in case your memory is short. Do I have to raise my voice louder than I today have spoken?

Yes, God gave a mighty sermon on the 18th day of May, did we have the sense to listen or will he speak

louder another day. Well God uses all kinds of circumstances to turn our attention towards him.
