Gilead, here with a message for all of our fellow Handmaid's Tale obsessives to let you know

that we are going to be dropping back into your podcast

feed very, very soon with a one-off special book club edition of our podcast dedicated to all things The Handmaid's

Tale. Because unless you've been living under a rock or stuck in a brutal, misogynistic theocracy that prohibits reading

of any kind, much less talk of an impending book release. Yeah, real funny. You would know that

there is now a sequel to The Handmaid's Tale and it is called The Testaments. In the Testaments,

apparently, I've not yet read it, we find out what is going on in

Gilead 15 years after the events of the original book, The Handmaid's Tale, which means

we find out what happened to Offred.

We now know her as June, but in the book she's always been offered, and anyway, you

know how this works, and also the book she's always been offered, and anyway, you know how this

works, and also what has happened to her daughters and to Aunt Lydia. Generally, it's about

the inner workings of Gilead all these years later, and hopefully it also involves how it all

starts to fall apart. So I can't wait, and I'm off to get my hands on a copy of the book right now and I suggest

you do the same.

So go support your local bookseller or join your library if you haven't already or download

the audiobook because a friend of the show and Dow doubt reads the Lydia bit.

However you choose to consume it, just make sure you get yourself up to speed for the inaugural meeting of the Eyes on Gilead Book Club.
