a follow him on Twitter at Jumask. J U M O S Q justice. How are you buddy? Welcome back to eye on the enemy. I can't complain excited about this game. Basically a must win game if the Packers want any chance to make the postseason this year. Well, that was one of my questions to you and let's start there because because it is looking a little hairy for Green Bay's playoff chances at the moment. Right now in the NFC after all the Thanksgiving day games are played. Green Bay sits at four and seven.

2:00.0

They're tied with the pat with the Detroit lines. Arizona Cardinals in New Orleans. Saints at four and seven. They currently hold the number 11 spot in the NFC. They are one game behind the Atlanta Falcons in the nine spot. Washington is in the eight spot at six and five. Then you've got Seattle at six and four. The Giants at seven and four. So. So there's a lot of work that Green Bay needs to do in order to kind of get themselves back into the hunt here. Do you think the playoffs are a realistic possibility for the Packers?

2:30.0

As of right now, I think no, I think going into that Cowboys game, I also would have said no. But then, you know, they win that. It kind of swings the momentum for them. Right. And then they lose to Tennessee. And it's, you know, their playoff chance is just plummet again. I've been messing around on five thirty eight. They have their whole, you know, little playoff predictor that you can mess around with. The Packers coming out of this Eagles game. So going into the

tournament, they have a six percent chance to make the playoffs. It's not very good. Right. That's about one and twenty. But coming out of this game, depending on all the other results in week 12 plus, you know, if they win or if they lose against the Eagles, their chances of making the playoffs coming out of this weekend range from, like, 28% to 1%. That's that's how much this game matters. Like it can breathe another breath of life into them.

3:30.0

Or it can basically just end their chances completely. I mean, as it stands already, they're probably already going to need some help from either, you know, I don't think the commanders are that great of a team. I think just maybe just I'm biased because of the quarterback situation. But one of either the Giants or the Seahawks is going to need to underperformed down the stretch to even give them a chance. And that's independent of them, you know, being able to get things done in the second half of the season.

3:59.9

Well, let me ask you, I mean, what would be best? I mean, is Green Bay sneaking in as the last wild card here with a with an Aaron Rogers who might be his last season in Green Bay? Who knows how the, how the, the quarterback situation is going to go down in Green Bay? I know he just signed a big deal. But with Aaron Rogers, you know, he could retire. You know, who knows what's going to go on with that, dude?

4:19.9

Is it, what's, what's in the best interest of the Packers? It would it be to sneak in as the last wild card? Or would it, I don't say it would be better for them to lose to the Eagles because obviously Green Bay fans are going to root for the Packers to win. But if you look at it with a clear with clear eyes, what's better? Is it, is it better to sneak in as the last playoff team? Or is it best to just lose this game? And would that be the best scenario for them to lose this game?

4:44.9

And then really focus on thinking about 2023 and putting yourself in a position to get a higher draft pick and not have to worry about trying to scramble here at the end of the season.

4:55.9

You know, John, that's a great question. And it's one that Packers fans haven't really been on the same side of again, you know, going into that Cowboys game, right?

5:06.9

It felt like the season was over. And that's when you started hearing a lot of like, just pull the plug on the season, send Aaron Rodgers down. It's been speculated for a long time that he's had a broken thumb.

5:16.9

He only confirmed that on Thanksgiving day or the day before Thanksgiving day. So that's, you know, in terms of that, you know, there's been a lot of debate for Packers fans of like this.

5:29.9

This thumb is broken, send him down to see what Jordan love has to do, you know, has to show on the field. And then we'll see if, you know, he's maybe the guy we want to ride with next. And if Rodgers wants on the way out and wants, you know, to play in San Francisco or Indianapolis or wherever it may be next year, you know, we can trade him away and, you know, reap the benefits of some of the draft picks and stuff.

5:54.9

I think this is the closest we've gotten to Packers fans looking in the mirror and saying like, I think the window is closed, right?

6:03.9

Yeah.

6:04.9

I don't think this team can go on a run, especially the loss of Rashon Gary was huge for that. I think the defense is fundamentally different without Rashon Gary being able to rush the passer now.

6:16.9

Preston Smith and Kingsley and McBarray playing the edges, they have Jonathan Garvin as the fourth guy off the bench and he's no good.

6:25.9

So there's one injury way of playing like an NPC, like a madden generated rookie basically outside linebacker and their whole defense is predicated off of getting five guys on five offensive linemen and winning on one on once.

6:39.9

Right. And yeah, you can watch the Tennessee game. They stuck with that plan and Ryan Tannahill throws for 330 33 yards and that's not something Ryan Tannahill usually does mind you that's in a game where Aaron Rogers after the game was saying, you know, he's throwing some wobblers because the wind was going so crazy and it was snowing.

6:57.9

That should have been a game where, you know, the wind, the weather, Lambo field, all that mistake, right, should have impacted the passing game and it just didn't so.
