Summary

Have you ever gone through phases where you are super productive, you're practicing good habits, and overall you're just feeling amazing? Only for it to be followed by a crash where you're burnt out, you feel depressed, and keep getting hit with crying spells? Yeah... it happens a lot to us too. In this episode, we discuss week-long highs followed by week-long lows, if it's a normal thing, and if we should be talking to a therapist about this. Enjoy!

we talk about our feelings and our experiences as teenagers. It's honestly kind of just

0:27.5

a documentation of our teenage experience. Yeah. I was listening to some old episodes. Why?

0:36.3

Yeah, I was listening to all episodes. It like, I was like, dude, we set the most basic shit

0:41.7

and thought we were so profound. Because those are what teenagers do. I know. I never thought

0:48.0

we were profound. Like, ever we just say what needs to be said. I really thought we were.

0:53.1

Yeah. Yeah. We were like at the forefront of like bringing things. I was like, we are literally like,

0:58.8

this is almost poetry. Rupi car boots. Yeah, it wasn't. It was like, if you're sad, like,

1:05.0

I mean, but hey, teens get so bored. There was a time where it was dignified. That's so true.

1:09.9

So we were so, so we were revolutionary. We're like a good year, I'd say. After that, I mean,

1:16.1

yeah. It was cred. No, honestly though, I think it's true. Because I think that is, that was the

1:21.2

teenage experience. Like, even when I went back, like, 15 year olds talked that way. Like, you

1:26.8

don't realize that, yeah, there is a difference in how people talk. Regardless, this episode is all

1:32.8

about highs and lows, highs and lows and the cycle of mood swings. I feel like I have a lot to

1:39.7

say on this topic. I just overcame a week long low. That was actually kind of the hardest I've

1:48.2

been hit for a while. I feel like I've been scared of getting depressed. My whole adolescence.

1:55.2

I'm scared. I'm going to get this is so capitalist. I'm scared of getting depressed because I won't

1:59.0

be, it would be productive. So it's like really scary for me. I'm like, dude, I don't want to get

2:03.6

depressed. My career's going to slow down. What am I going to do? And so I actively do things to

2:09.3

avoid depression. I care for my mental health. And I obviously don't want to be mentally ill.

2:13.6

So I do a lot of things for my mental wellness. I go on walks. I make sure to eat healthy. I
