If you're on Facebook, you probably already know this, but just in case you don't,

I am slammed.

I'm teaching a summer class right now, which is going really well, and I'm having a lot of fun,

but I don't have a lot of time for anything until it ends in just a couple more weeks.

So, originally, I was going to just take the week off, but I realized I have this podcast

that I had recorded for the kind of the waning days of the Patreon that never saw the light of day.

This is my review and reaction to the Keep Sweet documentary that is On Discovery Plus.

Not the Keep Sweet Pray and Obey series, To be clear, this is the documentary on Discovery

Plus. I never released this on Patreon, and it's kind of older. I recorded this over a month ago,

but I thought, hey, rather than give you nothing this week, maybe you would enjoy this.

If you like fun, happy, go, lucky Adam, this is not going to be your favorite because this is

pretty serious stuff.

And I also want to say, I'm not coming at this as an expert on the community or these

historical events that took place. This is my reaction and interpretation of the documentary

as it was presented to me and outsider. So I hope you take everything I say with that in mind and enjoy the

podcast. I'll be back at the end. So I'm going to walk you through kind of the beats that I picked

up on. And I also want to talk about how I found this documentary to be a remarkable piece of ethnographic research.
