We recently spoke with a technology ethicist who used to work at Google, Tristan Harris.

He now runs the Center for Humane Technology.

We spoke to him for our series The Rise of AI, which aired last week.

The fast-moving space has already seen a lot of change and major competition,

as Microsoft, Google, and OpenAI all lie to have the best chat box.

But many like Harris say we may want to take a beat here.

He explains, unlike previous technology, we actually know that a worst-case scenario

involves AI becoming so much smarter than us that it somehow ends humanity.

He discusses what regulation should seek to do for now,

and the differences between regulating something like AI and social media.

And yes, like others in this space, he says that involves international agreements.
