Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on everything that's good in our lives and to be grateful for family and friends.

But can I make one suggestion?

This year, take a minute and think about someone who could use a friend.

That's the theme of this story.

It's about a lonely, kind of disturbed teenager, a kid who desperately needed somebody

to reach out to him.

His name was Jeff.

Jeff Dahmer.

Or as you came to know him, Jeffrey Dahmer, the serial killer.

But this story begins when he was still in high school.

That weird, lonely teenager had one friend, Durf Backdurf,

who recently told the story of their friendship in a graphic novel called My Friend Dahmer,

which has now been turned into a feature film.

Charles Monroe Kane talked with filmmaker Mark Myers

about the challenges of finding relatability in a character like Jeffrey Dahmer,

while not denying what he would become.
