As part of the Trump administration's celebration of America's 250th birthday,

Education Secretary Linda McMahon is visiting schools in all 50 states.

A month the department calls the History Rocks Trail to Independence Tour,

their speeches, activities, and contests for the kids.

Linna McMahon is the 13th United States Education Secretary, and the last if she and President

Trump get their way. They want authority and responsibility for education given back to the

states, although it would take an act of Congress to truly abolish the agency it created in 1979.

She spoke with our Lisa Brady here in New York about all of that and the state of American

education in general, during a conversation that we cut down for the regular Fox News

Rundown.

So I want to start out by asking about the history rocks tour.

What is it? What's the goal of it?

It's helping to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our country, number one.

But it is, it's like an assembly that we do in schools all around the country.

And it's really fun. But, you know, the whole school, you know, will come. And it's a combination of

history facts and questions about the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States.

There are federal questions that are asked. There are state questions just pertinent to that
