This is the Fox News rundown extra.

I'm Jessica Rosenthal.

United auto workers went on strike against the big three car makers,

Ford, GM, and Stellantis earlier this month.

That's the first time all three have been targeted by the union at the same time.

The strike began at a few locations but has since expanded to 38 locations in 20 states.

The auto makers have offered the UAW pay raises but say the cost of transitioning over to electric cars

prevents them from meeting all the union's demands.

We recently spoke with Fox Business Corp. Jeff Flock

and former Labor Department economist Diana Furch Scott Roth

about the issues at the center of this strike and how workers pay,

climate change policy, and politics have all factored in.

We also discussed whether rapidly advancing technology has created anxiety among workers

in a variety of industries and if more labor disputes and work stoppages should be expected.
