we are revisiting our American icon story about Mad Magazine.

After the current August issue, old material will be reprinted with fresh covers,

but you or your children or your grandchildren

will almost never find any new Mad Magazine parodies

or cartoons in those pages.

This really is the end of an era.

Generations of comedy writers and other funny people

were raised on Mad Magazine,

and its influence can be seen on TV shows like The Simpsons and The Daily Show

and South Park and in The New Yorker and practically everywhere.

But before you hear that American icon story,
