TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew testified before Congress during a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing Thursday. For years, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have expressed concerns about users' data privacy and other security threats related to the Chinese-owned social media app. Despite its massive popularity, over two dozen states have already banned the app from government devices, and there's an effort by Congress to ban it nationally.
