Like we're acculturated to believe that if you're accused of a crime, that like you're like you're the accused, you're a defendant.

Like you're not Ian. You're not Thomas. You're just like like you're a crime, you know.

And something that like I always ask, you know, in jury selection is do you think that just because someone got arrested,

they must have done something wrong? Because, like, growing up, I remember, like,

watching TV shows like cops and, like, or, like, law and order. And, like, everyone, like,

all the TV shows, all the media, everything is all centered around like prosecuting people.

And of course the guy who's being arrested is being, you know, the guy that iced tea arrested in SVU.

Of course he's like he's a, he's a terrible guy.

And like, is he going to get away?

No, he's never going to.

They're never going to get away with it because they're all bad guys.

And kind of like by extension, we start to think that everyone is accused of a crime is somehow bad.
