I've got a fresh story from last time I was out shed hunting. This is a time of year when the grass is still low in the high country and

those of us who love collecting elk and deer antlers and the exceptionally rare moose antler are out there combing the hillsides, you know, looking for a treasure. So that's what I was doing. I was looking for a treasure. I was a man on a mission. I was focused. And I thought I knew where I could get to that nobody had been yet.

Access some high country that nobody combed.

And I was so fixated on finding a big six by six elk shed and as I'm blasting up this hill I walk through a

field of wildflowers and the very first ones of the year and it was really surprising to me because it is pretty early still in the high country but here's this whole

this whole hillside I know a hundred two hundred wildflowers I mean there's just

greater than the glory of Solomon.

Yeah, yeah it sure was.

I'm not glad.

And it's anyway, I look at the wildfires and I go, huh, nice.

And, you know, I blast on.

And there was just that moment, and it's often so quiet,

like God doesn't like to have to shout.

He just said, that is today's gift.

And I knew, I knew.

I mean, years of idolatry, years of obsession, I knew, oh my gosh, pause, go back.

First off, let it go, let it go, Tiger.

This mission that you're on, let it go.

That's not what today's about and go back and enjoy this incredible gift. It was

gorgeous, you know, and linger there and realize, you know, there was the gift that I was pursuing the treasure I was pursuing and then

there was the gift he was giving and they were two very different things
