Alan is a journalist with a PhD in sociology, a senior staff writer from Mint Press News.

He's the author of several books, including misreporting and propaganda in the information age, still manufacturing consent.

Great to be with you, Brian.

Well, you know, manufacturing consent still, of course, that's a takeoff on Noam Chomsky's

book. Chomsky wrote the famous book about how the government, how the ruling class,

how the media shapes the narrative, how the ruling class, how the media

shapes the narrative, how it, quote, manufactures consent.

Karl Marx had another formulation back in the 19th century.

He said the ideas of any society are the ideas of its ruling class.

Maybe the methods and the platforms change, but the goal was still the same, and the outcome was

pretty much still the same.

Today, we're talking about many things, but I want to talk and want to start with you about

how the U.S. media is so pro-Israel.

And, of course, there are different ways that this manufacturing consent takes place.
