V is for violence.

A sociopath, or someone afflicted with antisocial personality disorder, is someone with a limited capacity for empathy and has a history of disregard or violation of the rights of others.

Well, obviously, the capacity for empathy that anyone possesses is variable. We consider anyone

that possesses it in only small amounts to have a disorder. Empathy isn't even a concept

strictly restricted to humans, as similar behaviors have been

observed in primates, but it's been a core aspect of our species and our development over

the millennia.

How would our society have got along, however, if no one possessed any empathy?

Chances are not too well, and that's what SCP 7841 looks at. Let's begin.

The article begins with, and mostly consists of, large sections of prose rather than the typical scientific documentation of an SCP.

The truck sputters as it runs out of fuel,

finally slowing to a halt on the forest path.

A second later, the headlights flicker off.

That's fine. It has done its last work. Two men get out from the front of the truck, and six more climb out from the back. Between them, they hold a metal

crate elongated like a coffin. Dim, faint moaning can be heard from within, echoing in on itself, the sound folding like ruined paper.

None of the soldiers, for they are soldiers in fatigues and night camouflage, pay at any mind, not even when the sound turns into scratching.

They've been listening to these sounds for days now, weeks.

They leave the corpse of the seventh soldier inside the truck, pilfered and opened and naked
