SCP 62-17, The Emergence

The SCP universe is one in which the normal rules of existence, such as the various laws of physics, biology, chemistry, and mathematics, are routinely broken.

Anomalies wouldn't be very anomalous if they didn't shadow the laws of nature on a regular

basis, but despite all of this, the foundation still manages to keep things pretty well contained,

generally.

What's perhaps surprising is that there aren't more large-scale anomalies that break these

laws on a global or universal scale.

Sure, there are anomalies that mess with physics or chemistry in a very localized area,

but what would happen if the whole world suddenly experienced an issue with the way chemistry

worked, for example.

That's what SCP-6217 deals with, although the reasons for this sort of breakdown are much

more than meet the eye.

The document begins by being accessed by a Foundation researcher, noting that the date is currently

June 22nd, 2041, and today is their 6,217th day working at the Foundation.

When the document is accessed, the system remarks that it was last accessed a number of days ago,

although the number errors out due to an integer overflow.

There's also a warning present that the document is under a continuous internal attack,

and has thus been autonomously locked, although it provides another error, this time in hexadecimal

code. This can be translated, although since it consists of something of a spoiler, we'll get to

that later. SEP 6217 carries the Apollyon object class, which is pretty simple and that it just means that

the anomaly cannot be contained by any means known to the foundation.

In fact, the special containment procedures simply state, not applicable.
