SCP 493535 Hereafter

The end of death canon is a specific timeline in the SCP universe in which life on Earth loses the ability to die,

making every man, woman, child, animal, and insect on the planet, functionally immortal.

This is a pretty big problem, and I went over it in my end-of-death video, but it's a concept

that crops up once in a while in other articles as well.

SCP 4935 doesn't take place in the end-of-death canon, but it does relate to it, as you'll see,

with the foundation able to take a peek at what that timeline might end up looking like.

As a slight spoiler, it's not exactly pretty.

SCP 4935 refers to a few things, primarily a temporal anomaly existing within a nature preserve in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The anomaly can be identified visually due to shifts in wavelengths as one approaches it, and after passing into the anomaly, an individual is taken to a future point

in time on Earth, roughly 130,000 years in the future. The anomaly is still located on Earth

due to star positions, but the abundance of oxygen has led to a large number of megaflora, with many

trees in excess of 200 meters in height.

Based on the Foundation's investigations, this future is largely devoid of intelligent life,

with only two significant exceptions.

The first is a race of pseudo-humanoid entities who refer to themselves as the ACOT, a word meaning grave diggers in their language.

The ACOT are a highly secretive and highly advanced species that inhabit the dark forests of the planet,

mostly in small groups in underground vaults or other structures.

They do appear to be genetically linked to modern humans, but possess elongated skulls,

larger, deep-set eyes, reduced mouths and noses, less robust chests and abdomens, and longer,

leaner arms and legs.
