Those of you who listen to our podcast follow along you may know Bethany most likely you may not know Gavin if you're a part of our church

You all know Gavin you are a little bit of a legend my friend Gavin is one of our pastors and kind of in-house resident

Expert on I don't know spiritual direction and formation you are

Project manager for lack of a better word for practicing the way you work with our team on that as well as overseas

Communities along with Colin Mayjack and we thought the three of us would just sit down

Have a kind of relaxed conversation more in depth around our most recent

Recommended rule of life for shelter in place. I love that title. It's just so intense

It's really intense. It sounds like a movie although somebody just told me that governor Brown said not to call

It shelter in place. It's stay at home order because shelter in place was apparently scary. Yeah, I like shelter in place

Shelter is a comforting word to me. Yeah, it's in the Psalms. I feel like I find with it place. I don't that didn't scare me

Lockdown that one scares you. That's a little bit more. Yeah, and I was like I hear we're going into lockdown

And I have just imagined like I don't know like a robot outside giving me beans and rice once

So

Anyway, all that to say we're here. We're in Portland

We're at this we're on stay at home order all of that and I think you know a few weeks ago when all of this hit

I think the first thing that a lot of us felt was just panic, you know

And then we moved through that to grief and I think of the kind of five stages of grief

Which are not really stages. They're not linear. It feels more like ping pong to me, you know or a bird's nest

Just all just man the mess and I think you know we moved through a kind of denial like this is just the flu
