Well, hi folks, this is Jack Spirico with another edition of the survival podcast is always one man's view of a changing world, the changing

times and the things we could all do to live a better life if times get tougher even if

they don't. Today is Thursday, June the 6th, 2024. That means of course it is D Day.

I'm not really going to delve off into that.

There's plenty of people doing that in mainstream media and what have you.

I just will acknowledge the sacrifice that was made on this day.

And the stark and harsh reality that while there are quite a few World War II veterans left there's not many there's just not many and

compared to the number that served and did manage to come home.

And we are down to a very small minority left.

If you think about it, you know, World War II ended in 1945.

It's 2024. Some of those guys did lie about their age to get in, but you know you're talking somebody that was at least 16, 17ish, and 1945.

There's just not many people left around. They were 16, 17, or older in 1945. and a lot of those guys you know today war

is really a young man's game there were a lot of people that ended up leaving

their homes either because they were drafter they volunteered late 20s, mid 30s, even into their 40s in

World War II. And it was a really kind of the harshest war that humans have really ever fought.

And I do hope that as many of the stories of these men as possible are being preserved because we can learn a lot from people

who have seen that level of folly in war. Dwight Eisenhower, who went on to be president
