In our second devotional, positioning ourselves to more fully experience God's promises,

today we're going to look at the role of renewing our minds and opening our heads and hearts to receive all God longs to give.

May God do a mighty work today as we make space for him to fill. Welcome to the

First 15 podcast. Our scripture for today comes from Romans 12 verse 2.

Scripture says,

Do not be conformed to this world,

but be transformed by the renewal of your mind,

that by testing you may discern what is the will of God,

what is good and acceptable and perfect.

There's a battle being waged constantly for your mind.

This battle isn't about flesh and blood,

but instead about experiencing the very promises of God.

You see your mind is a place where emotions,

perspectives, and decisions all collide, where lies and truth wage war. It's where you can

choose to experience God and see the world as he does, or choose a different path and struggle

in life to attain any sense of his promises at all.

Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 10 verses 4 through 5,

for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but have divine power to destroy strongholds.

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God and take every thought

captive to obey Christ.

Paul makes it clear that there is a very real spiritual battle happening in which taking your

thoughts captive is a chief weapon.
