| 0:00.0 | Редактор субтитров А. Синецкая Корректор А. Кулакова I want to welcome the worldwide audience of Manifest. I have a question to ask you and then we're going to answer it. Why is it that it seems no one is expelling evil spirits anymore? Determine the King James translation is casting out devils. Have the devils gone away? Or is there a problem maybe in the body of Christ in recognizing certain types of spirits, or is there a fear? What's the deal here going on? When I grew up at H 15, 16, 17 years of age, we would go to these large camp meetings where people would come in sometimes that were alcoholics or drug addicts or they would just outright centers. And it was common when they came to the altar for there to be manifestations and for the believers to just begin to pray for that person to be released from the control of the spirit that they were under. And now pretty much, you know, when an altar call is given, you'll just give a general altar call, pray a prayer over people. And you know, they'll go to a room. And if that works fine, if the people there are not under a dominion or a bondage of a spirit, it'll work fine. I mean, immediately, man, they receive Christ. And probably about 90 to 95% of the times, that's what occurs. But I've got to ask this question. Now in 6,000 years of human history, the majority of religions that were formed believed in angels but also believed in demons. The angels were considered, and I'm not talking from a biblical perspective, you know, I'm just talking about from the idea or the theories of early religions, the angels were believed to be of higher authority or higher celestial powers, but the demons were actually considered lesser gods. In other words, they did not have the power or the authority given to them by angels, but yet they were some type of a lesser being. Now, personally, I would never consider a demon a lesser god. It's a fallen being that thinks it's a God. I just be honest with you. But I want you to hear what I'm saying because sometimes I'll make a statement and people will misinterpret it and you'll get upset with it when that's not actually what I said. So I want to just I want to clarify that. In the Bible there are various types of spirits. Now we could not go through all of them but there'll be probably a list come on the stochras screen. It will show you this. There are seducing spirits first Timothy 4.1. There are foul spirits and these particular spirits are Mark 9.25. You have also included in the foul spirits is often listed, deaf and dumb spirits. I don't like to use the word dumb because dumb is an archaic word. It is death spirits and mute spirits where a person is unable to talk. There are unclean spirits, Matthew 10.1, spirits of infirmity. One is recording in Luke 13 verse 11. Second, Quran equals 1821. There was a lying spirit sent to deceive Ahab's false prophets. |
| 3:27.3 | In Leviticus chapter 19, verse 31, there's what's called familiar spirits. Spirits that's familiar with people, places and situations. Numbers chapter 5 verse 14 teaches that there are spirits of jealousy. 2nd Timothy 1, 7 says, God did not give you the spirit of fear. So there are spirits that can create fear in the mind or hard of a spirit of person. There's also, according to Romans 8, 15, what's called a spirit of bondage. And that is a spirit that tries to take someone back into the sin or the captivity they were delivered from. Isaiah 6, 2, 1, verse 3, there's what's called a spirit of heaviness. And that's a very a wady spirit that comes up on a person that has to be replaced by a spirit of praise. Now in the average person's life, I would say there's four levels of domination or four levels where a spirit will attempt to dominate. First is vexation or being vexed by a spirit. The reference to this is Matthew chapter 15 in verse 22 where a person was vexed by a demon or they were exercised by a demon that vexed them. Oppression, you can be oppressed by a spirit. The verse I use here is Acts 1038, how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost with power, who in about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil for God was with him. And that word of press means to have dominion over someone, to control dominion. It's like an oppressive spirit, it's almost like a controlling spirit. Then you can be possessed by a spirit, Matthew chapter 424. Now I don't think a Christian, a true Christian can be vexed or oppressed, but I don't see a true Christian who's fallen across, possessed by a spirit because the Holy Spirit dwelling in a person in a demon spirit can't live in the same house. That's a whole other teaching. But if a person is practicing their life of sin and iniquity and they are not following the Lord and they're in wickedness, they can truly be controlled by a possessed by a spirit. And it means that they're under the total control of that. I want to also add here, I believe there's what's called spirits of deception, and in Revelation 16, 13 through 14, the word deceived there means to go astray or to get off the path. So these are four, vexation, oppression, possession, and deception. Now I want to say something here that is going to distinguish between oppression and possession. |
| 6:05.0 | When someone is oppressed by a wrong spirit, they can still have control over their emotions and mind, although the oppression is present. When a person is possessed by a demon, and that means that demon is residing inside of their human spirit, it. They lose control. Mark chapter 5, the man of Gaudera that was controlled by so many |
| 6:29.4 | spirits. And that means that demon is residing inside of their human spirit. They lose control. Mark chapter 5, the man of Guderia that was controlled by so many spirits, he tried to cut himself with rocks. He was staying up all night long. He was crying day and night. He was breaking chains. How does a man break chains? Well the spirits in him gave him a level of power that he did not have just as a normal person. So here's what I want to talk about for a moment, which is very, very, very important. That is removing a spirit from a person. Let's say someone has a possession, their personality has changed, their characters changed, they are filled with violence, they're filled with hate, they're filled with anger. Then that spirit can be cast out. Now I'm going to share something with you in moments very important. To cast out in the Greek is at Balo to throw out and it actually means a forceful removing of something. So it's almost like a violent action. Now you're not being violent toward the person. We know demons can be violent toward others. |
| 7:27.8 | As this man of Mark chapter 5 proves everybody was afraid of him. |
| 7:31.6 | But to cast out doesn't mean you shake the person and you hit the person. |
| 7:35.0 | That's not what it's talking about. |
| 7:36.8 | It means you have such authority that you don't speak to the demon. |
| 7:41.2 | You don't say, now little evil spirit, I'm asking you, I'm requesting for you to come out of this person. No, it's come out in the name of Jesus. There's an aggression, a holy aggression that comes over you. So when people, when demons were cast out of people in the early times, many times the spirit would cry out, the individual that was being delivered would fall down, but yet they would always come up free. Another word that is used by the Catholic Church for casting out a spirit is called exorcism and in the Catholic Church the priest assesses the situation to determine and this is very important if it's simply a neurological issue that they're dealing with, |
| 8:25.1 | if it is a trauma that they have dealt with and they just don't know how to deal with and the family has misread it, or if they have signs of being controlled by spirits. So that has to be determined. Biblical references of spirits, I'm going to give this to you quickly. The word evil spirit. found seven times in first Samuel and it tells you that Saul was tormented by spirit. Now this is very important. The Bible says that the Lord permitted an evil spirit to come upon Saul, but Saul was keeping the door open to this spirit because he was jealous of David and that jealousy was opening the door to a tormenting spirit of tormenting his mind. Now this is really interesting. King Saul never really got over the spirit. The evil spirit was not cast out because the evil spirit was controlling his thinking and controlling his thoughts, but watch this carefully. He would get relief when David would play the harp. So when David came in with the harp, he would get relief, and the Bible said he would be made well and refreshed. But when David left, his mind began to think about, I'm going to get that David. I'm not going to let him be king. And the thoughts of his mind opened up a door. This is important. You hear this now, too, being a completely totally paranoid, tormented, and possessed by an evil spirit. And I'm going to say something very, very important here that I want you to hear. I believe there are Christians who call themselves Christians, who occasionally attend church, which you're occasionally read the Bible, that have allowed themselves to fall into bitterness, unforgiveness, strife and contention. They've defiled their spirit and they've opened up a door to a tormenting spirit. I can prove this to you by the parable of the unforgiving servant. There was a servant that was forgiven of let's say 52 million dollar debt. He found a servant, another servant, a co-worker who owed him $52. The forgiven servant wanted to have the other servant who owed him $52, locked up in prison. The king heard about it. So the king went back to the forgiven man who'd been forgiven of a lot and told him said, I I'm going to put you in prison with the tormentors. They're going to beat you until you learn to submit. And that man was turned over to the tormentors of a prison to beat him to submission until he was willing to repent. Jesus said, oh boy, this is a strong verse. So shall my Heavenly Father do unto you if you do not forgive everyone, His brothers, trespass. So in other words, Jesus was making it clear that spirits can torment people who abide in bitterness and unforgiveness. And I've seen it. I know some people never would name them that I believe right now are under the dominion of a demon. Now you'd never know it. You could down in a restaurant and eat with them and they carry on a decent conversation. You could go into a church setting with them and never know anything was wrong. But in secret, they plot and they strategize against churches or individuals and they do whatever they can to hurt damage in the court of public opinion people and it's a demon behind it. They could say whatever they want to, it is an absolute spirit behind it. Now let's go back to the question. Why is it that we do not see a lot of individuals who are delivered from demonic powers? I'm going to say this. I'm going to give you some reasons. I'm going to explain something. Number one is, in fact, four of these have to deal with fanaticism. One has to do with fears. Just tell you upfront. The ministry of what they call deliverance, the ministry of casting out devils has had more outright non-biblical fanaticism connected to than any other form of ministry in the body of Christ. For example, people use non-biblical methods to try to get demons out. When I was a kid, I must have been 18 or 19. I went to minister at a church and the pastor, blesses, heart was obsessed with demons. All they talked about with demons. So we get to the end of the service, |
| 12:45.6 | we have a great altar call, and then all of a sudden he asked the ushers to hand out the brown bags to everybody. I thought, was he giving an offering or giving a lunch? What's this? So the details, the people to begin to breathe as fast as they can in the bag because it will help relieve them of demons. Of course, that's not biblical, that's all totally, completely man-made. So as the because the people begin to breathe into the bag and all of a sudden they begin to hyperventilate. |
| 13:09.1 | Also they begin to hyperventilate, |
| 13:08.8 | also they begin to hyperventilate. |
| 13:10.4 | And as they begin to hyperventilate, guess what happens? So I'm starting, you know, there's a demon, there's a demon. It was not a demon. It was complete total fanaticism. It was not, and that's what gives this casting out of devil such a bad name if I can say that. |
| 13:25.9 | The second thing is level of fanaticism is this. |
| 13:29.1 | I have say that. The second thing is level of fanaticism is this, I have known of people that have done everything possible to try to get the name of the demon they're casting out. They would say, what is your name? Give us your name, what is your name? And they based that on Jesus asking the demon, one time what is your name? And the demon said, my name is Legion for We Are Many. Now, when you start doing this and the person may not be, they may be oppressed and not possessed, you'll get all kinds of strange names. And so my point is that you should never try to carry on a conversation with a devil. And you know, a lot of times the whole of spirit can give you discernment to know what that spirit is without asking it for its name. Now I know one place that happened the other times it was called a spirit of deafness, a spirit of dumb, I don't like the word that's a King James word of being mute. So Jesus knew when he was dealing with the situation, |
| 14:25.4 | the kind of spirit he was dealing with. But man, I saw one time, a bunch of people gathered there, what is your name? Give me your name. Oh, what's your name? What's your name? And they're writing it down. It's like, don't do that. Here's another thing. The fanaticism of trying to get information from a spirit. Now allegedly someone is possessed by a spirit and these |
| 14:45.6 | people are saying where did you come from? What are demons? How did you come into existence? Now let me say this. If Satan is a liar then those spirits are liars. So any information you get would probably be a lie to begin with. Okay so this is the reason why people shun. I'm talking about some charismatic churches, some panic, |
| 15:05.6 | gospel churches. That's why people shun. I'm talking about some cares, mad at churches, some panic, |
| 15:05.5 | gospel churches. That's why they shun the idea of casting out spirits because they have seen so much shenanigans and so much that wasn't real, that they don't want that in their congregation and I don't blame them, I wouldn't either. But I'm going to tell you that I'm going to tell you what I think the biggest thing. I think it has to do with fear because it takes faith, it takes |
| 15:27.7 | disirma and it takes wisdom to deal with someone who is controlled by spirits. Now another reason we don't see this is because most churches, no, no, no, no, go back. Some churches no longer have an author service as they did when we were growing up. Therefore, people come to an altar, they pray or prayer or they go back to a room as a group and so you never see any kind of deliverance that would take place in an altar service. Number two, churches have mostly Christians attending or lukewarm individuals or occasionally a backslider so we don't always get in our churches. People that we would discern or detect that are completely controlled by a spirit. Number three, Christian churches often point to counselors for help instead of prayer. Now in some instances, if a person has neurological issues or if they have trauma, that's a good thing to do. There's nothing wrong with that. But you cannot eliminate prayer even even with people, but have those particular situations because I'm going to tell you, there's some things medical, medical science can't solve, there's some things doctors can't do, and there may be things counselors can't solve. But I want to say this to you, here's another point. Sometimes the individual who's controlled by spirit does not want the the spirit out of them and you should never try to cast a spirit out of someone unless they have a desire to be free. Here's what will happen. They'll just walk out the door and it'll return. Years ago in Daisy Tennessee, some of the old saints that are there, some of my friends will remember this, I was standing at the window praying at the pastor's house and Lord spoke to me and he said, now you see that |
| 17:08.7 | car that just pulled in over there. There's some one that's going to try to disrupt the service tonight and I want to have you ready for it. I'll show you what it does. Wow. So I called some men together. They were young men from Lee College and Cleveland that were in the meeting, I said, follow that car, see who gets out of it. |
